The story behind Mirasoon

Lysanne studied midwifery in the Netherlands and brought a strong medical foundation: physiology, sonography, risk selection, guidance through complex pregnancies. But what stayed with her from the first birth she attended was something else: how much it matters when someone knows you. That feeling never left.

She saw a gap, but above all she felt a strong pull towards a different kind of midwifery care. One where you are truly at the centre. When she really started exploring that, the need was quickly confirmed by the people around her. Together with her husband Steffen, not without its challenges, they built Mirasoon into a powerful force in birth care on Curaçao.

In 2022, Mirasoon started as an ultrasound clinic. Now it is a full pregnancy center with ultrasounds, maternity care, courses, coaching, and sports. The core has never changed: expert care, someone who knows you, and the right information to make your own choices.

What is caseload midwifery?

At Mirasoon we work with a limited caseload. A deliberate choice, not coincidence.

Your own midwife

You see the same midwife throughout your entire pregnancy. No strangers at birth: someone who has known you for months.

Generous appointments

We take time. An appointment at Mirasoon is not just fifteen minutes. There is room for questions, doubts, and simply a good conversation.

Shared decision making

You decide, always. But a good choice starts with good information, and that is what we provide. We guide, inform and advise so you can choose with confidence. Nothing is compulsory, everything is open for discussion.
